• Demand for DFW multifamily grew strongly to more than 8,800 units in the past 90 days, with DFW forecasted to double any other MSA’s 2018 demand.

 

  • Looking across other metrics, multifamily property owners see additional reasons to be upbeat.  Occupancy is up 40 basis points to 94.6%, average rents are up, and both starts and deliveries are down.

 

  • Effective rent growth is off its 2015 peak, rising only 1.7% during Q2 2018.

 

  • Permitting is down 22.5% from 2015, construction starts 15.3% fewer in Q2 compared to Q1 2018.
